FOUND AT THE OPEN SHOW

Hampshire Gundog Society was formed on 8th October 1944. Originally, only two shows were run each year with no events for working dogs.

Since then we have moved on. We still run two shows as well as many working events. Open and Novice Field Trials for Retrievers, Spaniels and the Retrieve breeds are held together with Working Tests for Retrievers and H.P.R.’s. Our Training Classe have, at present, a predominance of Retrievers attending.

Each year, at the AGM, the Society awards the Collyers Trophy for the most points gained by a member's dog at Field Trials during the season. The Sharland Trophy is awarded to the member's dog gaining most points from Field Trials, Working Tests and Shows. Competition for these trophies is open to all members of HGS. Awards won should be sent to Mrs Venturi Rose, who collates the results.

Two further trophies, the Rillons Progress Shield and the Hudson Memorial Trophy, are presented at the AGM. These are awarded by the trainers at the training classes for best overall progress and working in water.

Within these pages, you will find information about the Committee, Training Classes and, in the Membership Section, an application form and a copy of our current newsletter. Show, Field Trial and Working Test results appear in the relevant sections.

We shall also include schedules and entry forms for Shows and information about Field Trials and Working Tests as they become available. These will be found in the relevant sections.

The site will be updated regularly. Important information and news will appear on the STOP PRESS page.
